Mottled brown cup and saucer, a handbuilt ceramic cup pressed into dimples under a mottled brown glaze, 10 oz

I build small batches by hand for rooms where people sit down and stay a while. You choose a piece I already make and I build it in the number you need, same form and same glaze across the batch, and still no two cups alike. Food-safe glazes, cups made to be picked up all day.

How a batch works

Small batches

I build every piece myself, so batches stay small. Tell me which piece and how many, and we work out the number.

You choose from what I already make

Pick a form and a glaze out of the collection and I build that one in the number you need. No two of them still come out the same. If you had something else in mind, write and ask.

Honest lead times

Four to six weeks for a first batch, less for a repeat. If a firing goes badly I tell you the day it happens.

Food safe, made for daily use

Stoneware with food-safe glazes. Hand wash preferred, replaceable one at a time.

What owners ask me

What happens when one breaks?

One at a time, at the same batch price. It is a form I already make, so I can build it again whenever you need it. It will not be identical. They never are.

Can we see one before we order a batch?

Buy a single one from the shop and put it on a table for a week. It is the same form and the same glaze I would build your order in, so what arrives is what you already handled.
